Phase 09 – Audit

The Goal: Structural Integrity

Phase 09 is about Structural Integrity. This is a critical milestone where we verify that the foundation of the film is technically and narratively unbreakable before the final Assignment 2 submission.

We are looking for the removal of all placeholders. This is a full evaluation of your Sequence, Scene, and Shot hierarchy to ensure the project is ready for the high-fidelity push.

1. Narrative Stream (Storyboard Line Lock)

The narrative should now be fully visualized without gaps or "to be decided" moments.

  • Full Storyboard Draft: A complete sequence in line-art only. Every shot from your script must have a corresponding visual representation.
  • V2 Script: An updated script incorporating feedback from V1, ensuring all technical cues and dialogue are aligned with the storyboard timing.

2. Design Stream (Model Completion)

Finalize the "DNA" of all concepts (worlds, world logic, characters and props).

  • Complete Concept Sheets: Final concept art, turnarounds and expression sheets for characters and key world/environment layouts. These should be production-ready and presented using the industry standard presentations you researched in A1.
  • Final Logline: A polished, one-sentence summary that captures the essence of the finished narrative structure.

3. Production Stream (Exemplaire Validation)

Confirming the technical blueprint for your final pipeline.

  • Shot Exemplaire Structure: Re-validate your PSD strata logic. Ensure the layer organization is robust enough to handle the transition into final artwork.
  • Hierarchy Audit: Verify that your Flow naming conventions and folder structures match the final locked Shot Planner.

Phase 09 Review Conversations

Mentors will be auditing the structural integrity of your project WIPs:

  • Narrative: Is the storyboard sequence complete without placeholders? Does the visual flow remain consistent with the V2 script?
  • Design: Are the model sheets comprehensive enough for another artist to pick up? Does the logline accurately reflect the weight of the story?
  • Production: Does the PSD structure support the specific technical needs of your aesthetic? Is the hierarchy consistent across the script, Excel planner, and Flow?
