Phase 14 – Cinema Screening

The Culmination of Pre-Production
The Goal: Cinema-Ready Presentation

Phase 14 is the celebration of the ANI30003 Pre-Production cycle. Following the professional handover in Phase 13, this week is dedicated to seeing your temporal and visual logic on the big screen.

The "Cinema Screening" is not just an exhibition; it is the final test of your project's scale, clarity, and emotional impact before moving into full production in Semester 2.

By the end of this week, teams will have experienced their work in a theatrical context, providing the necessary distance and perspective to begin the production phase with absolute clarity.

1. Narrative Stream (The Final Reflection)

Reflecting on the locked vision in a communal space.

  • Post-Mortem Analysis: Observe how the dialogue and technical staging notes translate to a cinema environment. Does the power hierarchy identified in Phase 08 translate to the audience?
  • Narrative Reception: Evaluate the "Locked" script's clarity through the lens of a fresh audience.

2. Animatic Stream (Cinema Presentation)

The high-fidelity temporal blueprint in its final exhibited form.

  • Cinema Export: The definitive export from Phase 13 is screened. This is the moment to audit your sound design, audio sync, and "Multiplane" depth in a large-scale format.
  • Scale Verification: Auditing the visual detail and line clarity at theatrical resolution (1920x1080) to confirm the "Design Commit" standards from Phase 11.

3. Production Stream (Screening Logistics)

Completing the pre-production delivery pipeline.

  • Exhibition Logistics: Final delivery of files to the technical team for the screening event. Ensuring all "Burn-ins" and contextual framing appear as intended.
  • Cycle Completion: Final transition from the pre-production "Bible" logic to the mental preparation for the high-fidelity production proper.

πŸŽ₯ Week 14: The Cinema Screening

The exact date and time of screening is yet to be confirmed but will be confirmed here and by separate announcement.

Your attendance is the final professional gesture of the ANI30003 cycle, allowing all teams to celebrate the incredible work achieved throughout the semester.

Phase 14 Self Review Conversations

Mentors will lead a final reflective conversation during the animatic screening:

  • Narrative: How did the communal screening change your perception of the film's pacing? Did the acting notes and gestures provide the intended emotional weight?
  • Animatic: Were there any technical surprises in the sound design or visual layering when projected? How does the "temporal logic" feel now that it is exhibited?
  • Production: Based on the screening, which aspects of the "Definitive PSD" or "Production Schedule" feel most vital as you move into next semester?
